Sapporodokuritsu Christ Church is a church located in Sapporo, Japan. It was established in 1964 as the first Japanese Protestant church in the region. The first service was held on April 26, 1964, since then its membership has grown to about 200. The church currently holds services in Japanese and English each Sunday. Sapporodokuritsu Christ Church History Sapporodokuritsu Christ Church was founded by American missionaries Reverend Chester Hugh Mather and his wife in 1964. The church was originally located in a small building in the Atsubetsu District of Sapporo. The church soon moved to a bigger facility in the Asabu District a few years later.
