Japan Lutheran Church is a small Christian congregation in Japan. It is the first and only permanently established Evangelical Lutheran Church in Japan. It was established in 1950 by the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, a conservative church body based in North America. Since its founding, the Japan Lutheran Church has grown to about 1,000 members, who are served by two pastors, several lay ministers and an office staff.
