Sivas Castle is an ancient castle located in the city of Sivas in Turkey. Built between 1271 and 1274 by the Seljuk Sultanate, the castle encompasses an area of more than 8,000 square meters. History:

Sivas Castle, located in Sivas, Turkey, is believed to have been built in the 3rd century AD. It was originally a Roman castle, converted to a Seljuk military structure in the 12th century. It is currently undergoing extensive restoration projects and is now used as a tourism destination. In the 13th century, Sivas Castle was the site of the first successful recorded Turkish siege of the city. The siege is said to have lasted 42 days and was the first recorded instance of the use of Turkish forces to take a Christian city. During this time, the castle was also used as a prison for Sivas’ rebellious Christians. By the 15th century, the castle was used as an imperial residence by members of the Ottoman Empire and their retinue. During this time, the castle was also used as a court house and many of the civil and criminal proceedings of the region took place within its walls.
