Brief History:

Altunizade Mosque was built by Sultan Abdulhamid II in 1902 in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his accession to the throne. It is located in the Altunizade neighborhood of İstanbul, Turkey. The mosque was designed by ottoman architecture Mimar Kemalettin Bey and the construction was supervised by Mustafa Kemal Bey. It is a two storey building with four minarets and one dome elevated above the prayer hall. The interior of the mosque is decorated with Iznik tiles. The mosque also houses a library and a medrese for Islamic studies. It is one of the most famous mosque in Turkey which you must visit.

Altunizade Mosque is a mosque located in the Maltepe district of Istanbul, Turkey. Built in the early 17th century by the Grand Vizier, Celalzade Mustafa Pasha, the mosque is one of the oldest and most ornate structures in Istanbul. The mosque is notable for its impressive scale and range of ornamentation. The prayer hall is covered with marble and decorated with intricate glazed tiles. There are six minarets and one dome, all covered in gold. The nearest public transportation to Altunizade Mosque is the Altunizade Metro station, located just a short walk away. Buses to and from the mosque are also available. Those visiting the mosque can also take advantage of the nearby Istanbul Ferry Port, allowing easy travel to and from its many attractions. The mosque is open to the public every day from early morning until late at night.
