Brief History:

: Kilis Grand Mosque is located in Kilis, in southeastern Turkey. The mosque was built in the early 1900s and has been a place of worship since. It is considered one of the oldest surviving mosques in the region. The mosque is known for its unique and beautiful Ottoman style architecture. It features a large central dome, two minarets, and intricate floral patterns painted on the walls. Architecture:

The architecture of the Kilis Grand Mosque in Turkey is mostly Ottoman-style, and was constructed in 1571 during the rule of Sultan Selim II. The mosque is constructed from stone and cut from tuff and consists of two sections – a large central courtyard and a single-domed prayer hall that has been built on a raised platform. The grand mosque has an impressive number of arches, minarets, and domes. The central dome is particularly interesting as it is supported by four small domes that each have their own minarets. The mosque is decorated with intricate geometric patterns and floral designs. Within the mosque, there are twelve marble columns with Islamic calligraphy and intricate patterns carved into them. The walls of the prayer hall are adorned with tiles and Qur'anic inscriptions. To the side of the mosque is a burial ground where many prominent Turkish citizens have been laid to rest. At the main entrance of the mosque is a fountain which was used to provide water for the worshippers when entering the mosque. By visiting the Kilis Grand Mosque, visitors can get a glimpse of the city’s past and experience the beauty and intricacy of Ottoman architecture. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Kilis Grand Mosque is open to visitors from 8am to 11:30am and 1:30pm to 4pm every day, except on Fridays when the mosque opens from 4pm to 6pm. best mosque in the world.
