The Bursa Orhangazi Grand Mosque is a mosque located in Bursa, Turkey. The mosque was designed by renowned Turkish architect Rahmi Kocadon. The mosque is composed of two main components: domed prayer hall and a minaret. The prayer hall is divided into two parts: a covered area for the worshippers, and the main prayer hall. The covered area has a half dome structure and is protected from the elements by arching. The prayer hall is a large square space with a minaret at one corner and four pillars holding the coffered ceiling. The minaret is a synthesized version of Oğuz Esmer’s classicized Ottoman era minarets, and is composed of four stories. The lower story is square shaped and topped with a cone, atop which there is a balcony. Following this is a cylindrical story, of plastered brick masonry, with 16 arcades. At the third story, the columnar system of masonry is reduced to 8 arcades on four faces. All the windows of the minaret are highlighted by pressed lead. The entire building is covered in bright-white marble and limestone, giving it an elegant aura. The mosque also features unique ornamental features, such as the reliefs and calligraphy decorating the walls. Overall, the Bursa Orhangazi Grand Mosque a beautiful synthesis of Ottoman and contemporary architecture, as it combines traditional designs with modern materials and techniques. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

The travel time by car is around 30 minutes. By Bike: The Mosque can be easily reached by bike from the city center. The journey takes around 20-30 minutes.
