There is an inscription in the centre that reads "If the art of this mosque is to be seen, no castle will dare oppose me". The mosque has four main doors and a dome which is supported by four columns. It is a three-aisled mosque with a central dome and four niches, two of which are used as mihrabs. There are two minarets at the corners of the building. The mosque is an important place of worship for the local community and is popular among tourists as well. The Aslanhane Mosque is an Ottoman mosque located in Tokat, Turkey. It was built in 1517 by Mimar Sinan, the chief architect of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. The mosque is a two-story rectangular structure made of stone, with a large central dome on its rooftop. There is a stone latticework above the four entrance gateways, which feature a Mughal-style arch. The interior is decorated with colorful stained-glass windows, and is still used for prayer by the locals. There are also two minarets that flank the mosque's main façade.
