Reformierte Kirche Horw is a Protestant church in the city of Horw, Switzerland. The church was built in 1889 by the local architect Gustav von Bodenhausen and is of a neo-Gothic style. The church is part of the Swiss Reformed Church and of the Canton Luzern.
History
The church was built in 1889 by the local architect Gustav von Bodenhausen, replacing the small chapel that was located on the same site. It became the center for the Reformed Church in Horw, serving the area since the 16th century. The building was consecrated in 1892 and is today a listed building in Switzerland.
Facts
The church is 41 meters long and 19 meters wide. The spire rises to a height of 20 meters. Inside of the church an organ made by Wetzel Organbuilders of Germany was installed in 1929 and enlarged in 1955 and 1990.
