Architecture:
The Ajyad Mosque is a mosque located at the entrance of the Haram Sharif in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It was built around 1780, and was one of the oldest mosques in the city of Mecca. The Ajyad Mosque is a good example of Islamic architecture, and is ornately decorated with marble, wood and colorful tiles. It has four minarets and a large dome that is supported by four columns. Its interior is decorated with Arabic calligraphy and intricate patterns. Inside the mosque are the mihrab, minbar and many niches for prayer. A large marble fountain is also located at the center of the prayer area. The Ajyad Mosque is an example of the influence of the Ottoman style of architecture which was popular in the region at the time. It was renovated and expanded several times until 1988, when it was redesigned from its original design. There are multiple entrances and multiple galleries surrounding the prayer hall.
