Built at the start of the 21st century, the design of the mosque reflects traditional Omani architecture. The main prayer hall has a capacity of 750 people, in addition to a gallery for women at the back. The mosque is popular not only for its location and traditional designs, but also for its special feature, which is the maqamat stone, bringing good luck to the worshippers. The Al Kamil West North Mosque in Oman has an interesting mix of ancient and modern architecture. The facade of the mosque features intricate Islamic geometric designs and patterns that contrast sharply with its modern interior, which includes air-conditioning and television screens that display the times of prayer. The prayer hall is illuminated by custom-made dome skylights; while the mosque entrance is adorned with an impressive and grandiose golden dome, which is supported by five large marble pillars. The central minaret reaches an impressive 56 meters in height, and is surrounded by four smaller minarets for the four corners of the mosque. Inside the mosque, visitors are treated to a range of meticulously-carved decorative elements and hand-painted patterns that are unique to the region. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
