Brief History:
Al Suwayq North East South Mosque (previously known as Alnuaeq Alwaly Mosque) is an important mosque located in the city of Al Suwayq in Oman. It was refurbished and refurbished by the ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. The mosque was completed in 2012 and can accommodate up to 600 worshippers. It was built with the Islamic architectural principles of harmony and beauty featuring intricate Islamic patterns. The mosque offers many unique services such as a large foyer for people to assemble for prayer and Quran recitals and an outdoor courtyard. It also houses a library, a school and a clinic for medical consultation. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Al Suwayq North East South Mosque is located in the north eastern corner of Oman. The mosque was built in the early 18th century by members of the Al Suwayq tribe. The mosque consists of a large rectangular building with a white cupola on top and a single minaret. The exterior walls of the mosque are decorated with ornate plasterwork, while the interior contains a prayer hall with a mihrab (niche) facing the qibla (direction towards Mecca). The mosque also has a sahn (courtyard) which is surrounded by an arcade of columns and arches. The mosque is surrounded by gardens, which are watered by an ancient circular irrigation system. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Visiting Hours:
There is no universal visiting hours for mosques in Oman. Each mosque has its own set of rules and hours, and visitors should always ask for permission before entering.
