The Al Aqur West Mosque is a unique example of architecture from the 17th century. It is located in the ancient city of Nizwa, in the Sultanate of Oman. This consists of an outer section, a central area for the prayer hall, and a rear section leading to the mihrab (direction of prayer). The mosque is built from bricks and plaster, with a cut stone façade at the entrance. The walls are decorated with intricate stone carvings of flowers and geometric patterns, along with a large marble medallion at the center of the entrance arch.
