Brief History:
is an Islamic mosque in the historic city of Masirah in Eastern South Governorate of Oman. The mosque was built by Sheikh Ali bin Abdallah Al-Shehhi in the year 1375 AH (1956 CE) and is considered as one of the oldest mosques in Oman. It serves as one of the major worship places of the locals and worshippers from nearby cities and villages. Al Ajyal East South Mosque comprises of a main prayer hall surrounded by two other small prayer halls, two domes and four minarets. The mosque also features various stone carvings with Arabic scripts, as well as Islamic decorations. During the annual Eid-Al-Fitr, this mosque is crowded with worshippers. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.

The minaret features a distinctive projecting balcony, while the main hall and courtyard both feature intricate stucco decorations and marble floors. The courtyard of the mosque is the largest, and it is open to all visitors. The main hall, on the other hand, is divided into men and women's sections. The mosque also contains a mihrab, which is the niche in the wall that points towards Mecca. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
