The Tinmel Mosque is an example of 12th century Almoravid architecture, located near the town of Tinerhir in Morocco. Built in 1130, the prayer hall is rectangular in shape and measures 26 metres by 14 metres. Its minaret is decorated with numerous geometric patterns and is one of the tallest in Morocco. The mosque is constructed from red-brown stone and has two entrance portals and a covered balcony. The building also has two large internal courtyards, allowing light and air to enter.
