Sant' Ubaldeska Church In Malta: History,Facts, & Services

Sant' Ubaldeska Church is a historic Roman Catholic Church located in Spello, Italy. It was founded in 1067 by the Countess Matilda of Tuscany, and has had a long and rich history as a place of Catholic worship and pilgrimage. Designed by the architectural brothers Ubaldino and Ubaldino Rodolfo, the church has a Romanesque exterior and two large bell towers, giving it an imposing presence in Spello's hilltop location. Inside, there are seven chapels dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Saint Anthony of Padua, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, San Bernardino of Siena and other saints. The main altar is adorned with a beautiful silver tabernacle. The church also has a crypt located under the main altar, where the remains of Saint Ubaldo, patron saint of Spello, are housed. Sant' Ubaldeska Church is still an active place of worship and hosts daily services.
