Brief History:
The Jameh Mosque of Qazvin in Iran is one of the oldest mosques in the country, which has been standing since the 8th century. It was built during the time of the Abbasid caliphate. The mosque is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most important examples of Muslim architecture in the world. Inside the mosque, you can find an exquisitely adorned chamber known as the Shabestan, which is decorated with ornate stucco work. The architecture of the Jameh Mosque of Qazvin in Iran is an example of a traditional Islamic style. The mosque is enclosed within a large iwan and four smaller iwans to a courtyard which has a large central pool in the center. The walls and columns of the mosque are made of brick and decorated with ceramic tiles in intricate geometric patterns and solids. The mosque includes various prayer and trading halls, a mihrab, an ornate arch, a minaret and other traditional Islamic features. The interior is also lavishly decorated with intricate tile work and marble. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

The Jameh Mosque of Qazvin in Iran is open every day for the public to visit. The visiting hours of the mosque are usually from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, however on Fridays the visiting hours are from 12 noon to 5.30 pm. It is located in the old bazaar district, close to the eastern portal of the former royal palace, which has now been converted into a museum. Hours: The Jameh Mosque of Qazvin is open daily from 8:00 am to sunset. Parking: There is limited street parking near the mosque, and there are several public parking areas nearby. Transportation: The best way to get to the Jameh Mosque of Qazvin is by taxi or bus. The nearest bus stop is at Imam Reza Street and Jameh Mosque (locally known as “İmam Reza Vejheyne-i Jameh”).
