Brief History:
: Ziarat Shareef Dargah, Ajmer In India is one of the oldest and most famous Dargahs in India and is one of the most revered places of worship in the country. It was built around the 12th century CE and is a popular pilgrimage destination among all religions. It is the final resting place of famous sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, who is famously known for spreading the teachings of Islam and Sufism. The Dargah is located in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. The Dargah complex is a charitable organization that provides spiritual guidance and social welfare services to devotees. It also contains a tombs of some of the most celebrated Sufi saints, apart from the tomb of the founder saint. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Ziarat Shareef Dargah comprising a labyrinth of courtyards, numerous halls and chambers, sections of the shrine are spread across two floors. The main entrance of the complex is known as the Buland Darwaza, leading into a large white-marble courtyard. Further down, there is the Rauzat-us-Sahaba, a hall with a large cenotaph in the middle. This chamber is adorned with intricate carvings and guarded by marble screens. The complex also contains a couple of sufi shrines and two massive gates located at the edge of the complex. The outer gate is known as the Alamgiri Gate, and it was erected in 1637 AD during Mughal Emperor Akbar’s visit to the shrine. The shrine is always lined with devotees, who come to pray, offer special prayers and participate in qawalli performances and sama ceremonies. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

By Train: Ajmer Junction Railway Station is the closest railway station to the dargah and is located 11 km far. By Road: You can reach the Dargah by buses travelling from Ajmer or any other nearby city/town. You can also hire a taxi or cab to get to the Ziarat Shareef Dargah. beautiful masjid.
