As per the local beliefs, it is said that the Sultan instructed his governors and leaders to construct a beautiful mosque within the premises of the city. The Rander Jama Masjid is located in Surat, Gujarat, and is one of the oldest mosques in India. The mosque was commissioned in 1573 by Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begarah. The mosque has been built in a traditional Mughal-style architecture. The building is made of grey sandstone, with intricate latticework providing a unique decorative element. The main prayer hall is set on a raised platform, and the walls are covered with intricate carvings. A large arched opening at the front of the mosque is flanked by two minarets. The main courtyard of the mosque contains several columns with ornamental finials. The roof of the mosque is topped by an ornamental dome. Inside, the mosque is adorned with intricate floral patterns and verses from the Quran. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
