Vikramasila Monastery is a Buddhist monastery that was located near Bhagalpur in the eastern Indian state of Bihar. It was founded by the Pala king Dharmapala in the late 8th century and was one of two of the great Mahavihara (monastic universities) of the Pala Empire. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
