Brief History:
is a mosque located in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. Built in 1656–57, Shahi Masjid is a major tourist attraction in the city and is known for its unique architectural style. It has three arched domes, minarets, pillars and corridors, and is made of red stone. The mosque also contains magnificent galleries, prayer halls, courtyards and covered pathways. The walls are beautifully decorated with intricate designs. The main entrance of the mosque has a beautiful marble fountain amidst an open courtyard, which is surrounded by four large minarets. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Shahi Masjid of Bareilly is a 17th-century mosque that was constructed during the reign of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It is located near the Bada Bazaar in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The structure is built in red sandstone and consists of a single dome on top of an octagonal hall. Inside the mosque, there is an inscription from Quran in Arabic, which is the main source of its appeal. The main entrance is a 15-metre-high portal with three arches decorated with floral designs. The dome is decorated with Koranic verses and floral motifs. The mosque also includes an open courtyard with a fountain and a mosque court. The mosque has undergone extensive renovations and restoration in recent times with a few additions, such as a clock tower and a gate. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
