Brief History:
: Shahi Masjid, Purnia is a 450-year-old mosque located in Purnia, Bihar India. It was built by Mughal emperor Akbar in 1570 AD to commemorate his victory in the battle of Purnea. The mosque is known for its grandeur and elaborate architecture. The main structure of the mosque is made of red sandstone and yellow sandstone. The original marble minarets and domes of Shahi Masjid, Purnia have been replaced with concrete during the British Raj. Shahi Masjid, Purnia also features four inward-sloping minarets, a single dome, and two unique wall-towers on either side of the entrance.
