Brief History:
is a majestic mosque located on the western side of the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad, the largest city in India's western Gujarat state. Constructed in 1414 by Sultan Ahmed Shah, it is renowned for its splendid domes and minarets. The mosque is home to a massive marble courtyard that can accommodate up to 25000 worshippers and serves as the main gathering place for prayer during festivals. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Shahi Jama Masjid of Ahmedabad, India is an example of Delhi Sultanate style architecture, and was built by Ahmad Shah I in 1424. The mosque is made up of a vast prayer hall with archways and a verandah, along with a pillared component that consists of intricately engraved pillars and a minaret at one end, which is surrounded by a pillared pavilion. The hall is said to be supported by 260 intricately carved columns, while the mosque is covered with white marble. An ornately decorated chamber provides access to the sanctum, which is flanked by marble walls and decorated with floral and geometrical patterns. The Shahi Jama Masjid stands as one of the main landmarks of Ahmedabad as a significant historical remnant of the city’s past. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

The Shahi Jama Masjid in Ahmedabad, India, is open to visitors between 7:00am and 8:00pm every day. The mosque is closed on Fridays for the weekly congregational prayers. best mosque in the world.
