The Rock-cut Durga Temple is a 9th-century Hindu temple, carved out of a solid rock in the Deogarh town of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is an important historical monument and is a unique example of monolithic architecture. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is an important pilgrimage destination. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple is a monolithic sculpture with intricate carvings and a majestic outlook. The structure is around 5m high and has multiple idols of Durga, Ganesha, Shiva and Vishnu. The temple also has four directions marked on the façade which is believed to be entrances of four different generations. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
