Brief History:
Qutb Shahi Masjid is a 16th-century mosque located in the historic city of Ahmednagar, India. Built in 1528 A.D. by Sultan Qutb-ud-din Mubarak Shah, the mosque is a unique combination of Sultanate and Mughal architecture. Reflections of Indo-Islamic architecture can be seen throughout the mosque, from its grand arches to its striking pink sandstone pillars. Standing at over 10 meters in height, the five-storey minaret is the highlight of the Qutb Shahi Masjid. It towers over the central chamber of the mosque, allowing worshippers inside to view the city from the top of the tower. Notable features of the Mosque include its colorful tilework, intricate latticework, and elaborate inlay work. The Mosque also contains a large courtyard which is used for congregational prayers during Ramzan and other festivals. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.

The Qutb Shahi Masjid of Ahmednagar, located in the Indian state of Maharashtra, is a fourteenth-century mosque constructed by the Qutb Shahi Dynasty. The beautiful mosque, which is home to a main prayer hall and a courtyard, has a characteristic appearance reflecting the historic Indo-Islamic style of architecture. It is believed to have been built in 1318 CE and is considered to be one of the oldest historical monuments in Ahmednagar. The mosque's entrance is marked by a double-level gateway, which is embellished with numerous recessed arches and geometric patterns. This gateway is followed by the main prayer hall, which consists of five octagonal briksha (arched alcoves) situated in the centre of the room, with each opening opening up to its own iwan (niche). This main prayer hall is then surrounded by a portico of similar arches which form a raised plinth. The mosque courtyard is in a U-shape and is bedecked with intricately carved greystone pillars. White domes, which are surmounted over the brikshas, are also a common sight inside the masjid. Furthermore, the masjid has a pair of unique square minarets on the eastern side and a khwabgah (sleeping chamber) in the south. The space also boasts beautiful artwork, giving it an aesthetic presence. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
