aheyeswara Temple, Sendamangalam is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located in Sendamangalam village in Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is a great religious center for those living in the surrounding areas and draws many devotees year-round. The temple is considered to have been built during the reign of the great Chola King Raja Raja Chola I in the 11th century. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple has beautiful sculptural works and is adorned with intricate carvings. The most prominent feature of the temple is a Nandi that is present at the entrance of the temple. It has four towers known as Gopurams which are said to have been built in the year 1099 AD. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the form of Apatsaheyeswara.
