Brief History:
Hazrat Sayyed Moinuddin Chishti Dargah is one of the most important Sufi shrines in India and is located in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana. The Hazrat Sayyed Moinuddin Chishti Dargah is dedicated to the famous Sufi saint, Hazrat Sayyed Moinuddin Chishti, also known as 'Gharib Nawaz' (Friend of the Poor), who lived in India in the 12th century. He was born in 1141 and died in 1236 and was buried in the grounds of Huzur Sahib. The Dargah houses the tomb of Moinuddin Chishti and is visited by millions of Muslims each year. The main building of the complex is constructed in a traditional Indo-Islamic style, featuring a central arch known as the Buland Darwaza, or "Mughal Door". This majestic doorway is flanked by two domes, and opens up to the Chishti Garden in the inner sanctum. Within the complex are several other buildings, including several grand mosque-style prayer halls. There are also several archways, domes, and minarets, making the dargah a visually pleasing experience. The interior of the complex is adorned with intricate calligraphy and Persian artwork, and features several tombs of prominent Chishti saints, such as Hazrat Sayyed Moinuddin Chishti.
