Patai Rawal's Palace with tanks is a historical and architectural monument located in the town of Patai, Rajasthan, India. It is an exquisite combination of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture, in which two grand and ornate tanks adorn the compound of the palace. The palace is said to have been commissioned by Maharana Patai Rawal, the ruler of the region, in the 16th century, although the precise date of construction is unknown. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The palace is composed of two large, octagonal-shaped tanks. The first tank is made of marble, while the second is made of red sandstone. Both tanks have steps and stepsides, along with intricately carved and decorated arches. The entrance of the palace is also adorned with a large arch and a structural design of red sandstone. The inner courtyard, known as the sheeshmahal, is a unique feature of the palace and is said to have been used for formal ceremonies and audience meetings.
