It is named after a Sufi saint, Shaikh Abdullah, who lived in the area during the Mughal period. The Jama Masjid has three domes on top of it that are golden in colour, which give it an aesthetic charm. In the centre is a large, raised platform with an intricate fountain in the middle. The mosque is built with traditional red bricks, and it is surrounded by a wall which has arc-shaped entrance. It has many intricately designed interiors such as finely carved wooden gates, stained glass windows and the marble floors. The Jama Masjid also has a separate entrance for women, which is unique to this mosque. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
