Brief History:
Jama Masjid, Bilaspur In India is an ancient mosque located in the Chhattisgarh district of Bilaspur, India. Built in 1763 by the then ruler Fateh Khan, this mosque is considered to be one of the oldest mosques in the region. Jama Masjid, Bilaspur is visited by Muslim travellers and worshippers from around the world and has been the site of some important religious rituals. This mosque has a stunning white marble exterior with exquisite stone carvings adorning the walls. Jama Masjid, Bilaspur offers an air of peace and serenity and many Muslim pilgrims find solace within its walls during their prayers. Every year, a special festival is held in honour of the mosque which is attended by thousands of devotees from across the state. It is one of the most famous mosque in India which you must visit.
Architecture:
The architecture of Jama Masjid, Bilaspur, India is of Mughal style. Its Central dome, four corner towers, two huge entrance gates and a number of minor domes, make an impressive sight. The Central Dome is of fifty nine feet in diameter and is decorated with a neat cornice of marble. The exteriors of the building are of rubble masonry. The interiors are beautifully painted with floral and foliage motifs in red, black and yellow. The roofs of the mosques are of four arches and brick stone pillars. Small minarets, shaped like tulips are located at the corners. The entire structure stands on a raised plinth made up of five steps. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
