Overview:
irthangara Idol, Kannangarakudi is a one of the most important Jain temples in Tamil Nadu. It is located near the town of Kannangarakudi in the Madurai district of Tamil Nadu. The temple is associated with one of the five Tirthankara's of Jainism - Acharya Kannan. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple is built in the typical South Indian style with features like bright and colorful murals, murals depicting various Tirthankaras, a series of galleries in the main entrance and a huge temple hall. The temple also has a large pond (tanka)in the front. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
