Brief History:

Hazrat Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah is located in Belgaum, Karnataka, India. It is one of the oldest spiritual centers in India and its daintiness rivals that of some of the renowned ancient Dargahs. Architecture:

The architecture of Hazrat Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah is a representation of the Indo-Islamic style. The exterior of the dargah features a series of tapering domes and an entrance pointed arch with intricate designs. The domes are constructed from white chunam plaster, which is a combination of lime and egg white. Inside the dargah, the octagonal mausoleum of Shaykh Bande Nawaz is built on a platform surrounded by a series of arches. The tomb of the saint is an impressive structure of white marble, enclosing a chamber containing the cenotaph of the saint. The walls of the dargah feature decorative plasterwork with floral and calligraphic designs, and intricate stone carvings on the pillars and arches. The exquisite tile work of the dargah is from Iznik (in southeastern Anatolia, Turkey). The walls are adorned with numerous Islamic inscriptions. There is a well in the center of the courtyard which is believed to have been installed by the Sufi saint himself. Around the courtyard, many other tombs can be found that belong to his associates. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
