Overview:
husraja Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located in the holy city of Varanasi. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus. The temple stands on a little hill overlooking the River Ganges. The temple is said to have been built by the King of Varanasi in the 11th century. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Ghughusraja Temple is the oldest and most famous temple in Varanasi. The main feature of the temple is the massive 20 ft tall Ganesha statue, which is said to have been carved in the 11th century. The temple also houses several other smaller statues of Ganesha, as well as Lord Shiva and Parvati. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour

The temple is believed to be around 800 years old and was originally built by 108 Nagarajas (serpents). The temple has undergone several renovations over the years and was damaged during the Gujarat earthquake in 2001. A large portion of the temple was restored during the 2013 renovation.
