Dolmen Intact, Uttiramerur is an ancient megalithic burial site located near the town of Samalkot in Vijayanagara district of the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This dolmen is a unique archaeological structure consisting of three huge stones flanked by two upright slabs. It is dated to the Neolithic period with estimated construction dates from 2000 BC to 600 BC. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.

History:

This megalithic site consists of a single big chamber that is surrounded by three large vertically placed megaliths flanked by two long stones. The chamber is 3.25 m in length and 1.5 m in width, and is built of large boulders. Each boulder is placed atop the other and joined by mud based mortar.
