Overview:
Devasthan Ruins are a complex of ruined temples located in the Chirala Taluka of the Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, India. The ruins are believed to date back to the medieval era, having been constructed in the 11th century. It is widely believed that the ruins were used to carry out religious and spiritual activities in the region for centuries. The ruins are spread out over 2km, consisting of multiple temples and structures believed to have been used for various rituals and sacred ceremonies. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The main feature of the Devasthan Ruins is definitely the large number of well-preserved structures that still stand strong. These include the well-preserved temples structures like the Sree Mavina Ratta devasthanam temple and the Kothapalli Devasthanam temples. Other structures include the ruins of a bathhouse, an old stone wall and doorways and some remains of whitewashed walls. Many sculptures adorn several walls of the ruins as well as many intricately carved lintels. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
