The Buddhist Caves No. 1 to 7 are a set of monolithic complexes of ancient Indian rock-cut architecture near Junnar in the Pune district of Maharashtra, India. These caves are said to date from the 2nd century BCE to the 5th century CE. They are Ist to 7th century CE temples, chaityas (prayer halls), and viharas (monasteries). The caves, number nearly 104, are the largest and most elaborately decorated rock-cut Buddhist monasteries in India. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
