Overview:
Buchesvara Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva and located in the town of Bundi in Rajasthan, India. The temple is an example of the architectural style of the Bhuleshwar form of temple construction, characteristic of the Rajasthani region. The date of its construction is uncertain but is said to have been constructed in the 12th century. The temple complex is believed to have been established by King Bhoja I and is believed to have been completed by King Bhoja II some time in the 15th century. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The most prominent feature of the Buchesvara Temple is its tall, slender tower, or Shikara, which stands out many feet above the other temples in the complex. The intricacy of the temple’s intricate carvings sets it apart from other Hindu temples in Rajasthan. The idol of Lord Shiva, in the form of Lingam, is placed within the temple premises.
