Overview:
Kumbhar Tekri or Ancient Mound is an old fort located in the city of Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is believed to be the site of an 11th century temple dedicated to the Lord Vishnu, built by a ruler of the ancient Mewar region. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The main feature of the Kumbhar Tekri is the two-storied temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Other features include a Shiva temple, two watchtowers, and a palace. The watchtowers are believed to have been used to keep an eye out for hostile forces during times of war. The size of the fort is believed to have been reduced over time due to the construction of modern buildings around it. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
