History:
The church was first established in 1355 when the town of Kuressaare was founded. In the 15th century, the church was made one of the eight commandment churches of Estonia. It underwent a major renovation in 1766 and was dedicated to Saint Sigfrid in 1810. In 1885, the church was restored and the tower was given a neo-Gothic style. The church's neo-Gothic design was preserved until 1991 when the church underwent major renovations. Seegi Church In Estonia This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Estonia.
