St. Joseph’s Church is a 200-year-old Catholic church in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The current church building, which was erected in 187, is an elaborate example of 19th century ecclesiastical architecture, and it is one of the most prominent Catholic churches in Canada. History:

St. Joseph’s Church was founded in 1821 when the diocese of Toronto was created. The first services were held on a piece of land donated to the Catholic community by a Francophone storekeeper named Etienne Senecal. The first church building, simple and modest, was erected in the same year. In the mid-1800s, the average Sunday attendance had grown to 800 people and the original wooden church was replaced by the current building, modeled after the Temperanceville Chapel in Quebec. The church was officially consecrated in 1870. In 1917, the Italian-born Archbishop of Toronto, Luigi Scarano, celebrated the centenary of St. Joseph’s Church. Many prominent dignitaries attended the ceremonies, including Canada’s former Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Croatia.
