History:

The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the successor to the original shrine founded in 1846 and dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. It was initially established to serve the local neighborhood and Irish Catholic immigrants. It was greatly expanded around the turn of the century, and the name was changed to the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1948. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Croatia.
