Amboro National Park is located in Bolivia and was established in 1965. It is the oldest national park in Bolivia, and one of the largest, covering an area of more than 4,000 square kilometers. The park is home to an incredible array of biodiversity, with a variety of habitats, including dry forest, moist forest, open savanna, wetland, and gallery forest. Through the centuries, this incredible region has been home to many different indigenous peoples. It is commonly believed that the first settlers to the area were the Guarayos, an indigenous hunter-gatherer group, who arrived in the region thousands of years ago. However, much later, during the Spanish colonial period, many indigenous groups such as the Chimanes, Movimas, Yuracare, and Caripunas also inhabited the region. Amboro National Park serves as an important refuge for wildlife, and is home to a variety of ecosystems and species. The park is home to over 300 species of birds, 160 species of mammals, 70 species of reptiles, and 25 species of amphibians.
