History:

is a historical Buddhist monastery in Lhuntse District (Formerly known as Trashiyangtse District).It was established in 1735 by Dorje Lodro Gyalpo. Located about 1777 m above sea level, it is the largest monastery in Eastern Bhutan. The Rinpung Dzong was actually constructed to protect the monastery in its beginning.
