Worship Method:

The Nimalung Monastery, located in the Bumthang district of Bhutan, is a center of Buddhis worship and meditation. Every day, starting at 5:30 am, monks of the monastery perform prayers. Among different activities of the day, prayers are the most important part of the ritual. The monks chant sutras out loud inside the monastery. This is followed by circumambulation of the monastery and the chanting and recitation of mantras. Other acts of worship may also include burning incense, offering water to the shrines, offering the five traditional Buddhist offerings (tshok , chaktshang dar, torma, duldul, and ghangpé), and lighting butter lamps. The main prayer of the day is the Guru Rinpoche mantra which is chanted repeatedly. In addition to the daily prayers of the monastery, special prayer festivals take place twice a year, in the summer and winter months that feature music, dance, and the recitation of prayers.
