History:

The traditional worship methods of Phajoding Goenpa encompass both ancient and modern Buddhist ceremonies. There are elaborate rituals, hymns, and recitations involved in these Devotional activities. The most prominent among these is the three-day Drubchen (Great Accomplishment) ritual, which involves the making of tormas (offering cakes) and chakras (mandalas) as offerings for spiritual guidance and the accumulation of merit. Other associated activities include the performance of fearful mask dances known as Cham and the circumambulation of the temple while chanting mantras. Buddhists also perform prostrations and mandala offerings, as well as various prayers and rituals. It is believed that through these activities, one can become free of negative influences and obstacles to spiritual progress.
