The nearest domestic airport is Bumthang Airport, in Jakar, which is approximately 1.5 hours away by road. The best way to reach Kilung Lhakhang is by travelling to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, and then travelling from there to Bumthang. You can hire a car and taxi from Thimphu and take the scenic drive from Thimphu City to Khothey village, which takes around 6-7 hours. From Khothey village, it is a 20 minutes drive to Kilung Lhakhang. You can also take an over night bus from Thimphu City to Bumthang, which takes approximately 8 hours.
