The Gomel Regional Palace of Culture, located in the city of Gomel, is the main cultural institution of Gomel Oblast in Belarus. Founded in 1978, it is a government-funded cultural arena hosting concerts, theatrical performances, festivals, and exhibitions. The first building that acted as a cultural center for the region was the Mogilev Palace of Culture, erected in 1965. However, this building lacked space for some of the bigger events that the Gomel Regional Palace of Culture could accommodate. As a result, the Gomel Regional Palace of Culture was built in the late 1970s, and officially opened in 1978. The building was funded both by the government and local stores and companies, and was designed in a modern style. Throughout the years, the Gomel Regional Palace of Culture has hosted some of the country's best-known musical, theatrical, and circus performances. It is also the official home for the Gomel Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, as well as the Gomel Choir of Master Songs.
