The church was constructed in 1891 and is dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary. It is one of the most prominent buildings of the town and serves as a cultural and religious center for the community. The church is part of the Belostochny circuit of the Bryansk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. It is one of the best churches in Belarus which you must visit.

History:

Khram Blagoveshcheniya Presvyatoy Bogoroditsy was built in 1891, the same year in which the nearby town of G.volkovysk was founded. Construction of the church took place before the town was even formally established, and this has meant that it holds an important place in the history of G.volkovysk. During the Soviet era, the church was shut down and used for storage purposes. In the 1980s, it was reopened for worship and has since been undergoing regular restoration and maintenance work.
