: Sadarpur Jame Mosque, Faridpur In Bangladesh was built in the 13th - 14th century. Built by Mughal Subahdar Shaista Khan in 1680 and was later rebuilt at the end of the 17th century. The mosque complex area covers 8.187 hectares and consists of three main mosques including a three domed prayer room, a single-storeyed five domed mosque and a single-storeyed three domed mosque. It is protected by the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Bangladesh. The mosque is a fine example of Mughal architecture with decorative terracotta brick carvings featuring floral designing. The grand entrance to the mosque is from the northern side and is guarded by two gateways and a porch. The interior features many beautiful arches, projecting rooms, a robust platform, various turrets, jambs and cornices. The Majid is ornamented with elaborate terracotta work which is primarily floral motifs. The three domed facade is embellished with Mughal architectural elements. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bangladesh which you must visit.

The mosque is located near the tomb of Farid Uddin, the founder of Faridpur, in front of the Sriti Park. It is surrounded by four towers and a large inner courtyard. The mosque is made of laterite stone and has several intricate designs on its walls. The main entrance of the mosque is decorated with blue and yellow tiles. Inside, there is a large tank for ablutions, an altar and a mihrab which signifies the direction of Mecca. Visitors can also find some of the old Persian calligraphy on the walls.
