It received protection from the Department of Archaeology in 1982, and is now listed as a protected monument under the Antiquities Act of 1968. The mosque is made up of two domes, one semicircular and another square shaped, resting on a single platform. At the four corners there are small tower structures, and on each side of the mosque, a flight of stairs leads up to a narrow platform, where it is believed that the Imam used to give his religious sermons.
