Durrat Al Bahrain (Pearl of Bahrain) is an artificial archipelago of 15 islands located off the Bahrain coast. Construction of the island began in 2005 and is still ongoing. Durrat Al Bahrain was established with the intention of providing a high-end lifestyle destination in Bahrain. When the project is finished, it is expected to include a marina, six resorts, residential villas, office towers, a golf course, and a conference center. Development of the island is being undertaken by a company called Durrat Khaleej Al Bahrain, which is a joint venture between the Bahraini government and private investors. The property is said to span an area of 6.3 square kilometers. In the years since its conception, Durrat Al Bahrain has become a popular holiday destination.
